Winey Wednesday #7

Happy Winey Wednesday everyone! I'm heading on a plane early tomorrow to Creative Estates so not too much wine for me this evening :) This week I am going to show you guys the easiest way to remove wine labels. Wine labels are almost works of arts in themselves and strolling through the wine aisle is almost like strolling through an art gallery. There are endless possibilities on what to do with wine labels but my boyfriend and I enjoy saving them and displaying them different ways. One of my first posts on this blogs was about a wine bottle label I made to advertise for an event at work (I've deleted the post because it was super embarrassing-ha) but someone had commented that a great way to remove wine labels was by placing bottles in an oven. I searched around the internet and after reading a few tutorials and trial and error this is the best method I came up with for removing wine labels.

First gather all your wine bottles.

(attention readers: this is a collection of bottles from a few months)

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.

(Please excuse the glare- I don't have a fancy camera...yet)

It is important to remove any foil from the tops of the bottles before placing the bottles in the oven.

Place a bottle in the oven for 6-7 minutes (you can do more than one if you would like- I suggest starting with one so you can get the hang of it).

(Please excuse my dirty oven, I didn't realize how dirty it was until after this picture-yikes!)

After 5-7 minutes carefully remove your wine bottle with an oven mitt. While still wearing an oven mitt with one hand take a knife to the corner of the label and carefully peel away at the corner. The corner should easily start to come away from the bottle and then you can pull the label the rest of way with your fingers (be careful not to touch the hot bottle).

After you've removed the label you are free to do what you want with it! Pretty easy, right? Happy Winey Wednesday everyone! Hope to see you next week and below is the button if you'd like to help spread the word for Winey Wednesday.
