This was my creation I made for the Fourth and I was quite proud of myself. I can credit this whole idea to Pinterest and a wonderful idea from a pin that lead me to this recipe. My favorite part of this cake was that the actual cake was red, white and blue when cut open. I unfortunately did not get a picture of my cake cut open but here is what the sample cake looked like cut open...
This recipe is great because it isn't limited to just the Fourth of July a little change of colors and this cake could be used for a different holiday. I hope you all had a lovely holiday filled with family and friends.

I saw the same cake and made it for the 4th, too! Although...mine turned out pink, white, and light blue. Next year I will beef up the food coloring a little. Yours looks great : )

Ohhh love this! And definitely can see this for every holiday, different colors! I made a bday cake for myself last year, it was rainbow colored. Colors make us happy!
