Camera Help

Friday, July 27, 2012

I need some help from all the photographers out there. I have a Canon Rebel T3i and I am fairly new to using it. I am reading every tutorial out there and attempting to get better with my photographs. I only have the stock lens on the camera now and I want to know what lenses you would suggest for someone like me?

I am in the same boat. ( sorry I'm no help) I'm looking at tutorials too with little knowledge gained. If u have any that you have benefited from I'd love to know.

As a DSLR user since 2011 ... and quite the non-expert...I absolutely have no idea. I am borrowing a telephoto lens ... but haven't used it much. So I'm sure I helped quite a bit...right?

1.8 50mm is awesome. That was my first non-stock lens and it's pretty cheap. It gives you a very angled look when taking pictures (focusing on on spot and blurs the rest of the photo). Amazon has a lot to choose from, but I mainly purchased mine directly from Amazon instead of a third party. Good luck!

I'm not a Cannon person. I am a Nikon. But get a 55-250mm lens and it will work out for you to branch on.

I know you might not think this helps but it helped me the first time I asked! I had one girl tell me that too each is her own & photography is by far his or her own! So with that they told me to go look @ lenses & see which I liked better then others & I did just that! I learned that what some may love from them I hated & some I did like that they liked. I learned from that whole thing that I needed to be more confident with my decisions & choices & it only made me better I think so I encourage you to just go try the lenses, & get a fill for what you love/do not love! because we all take different types of photography like for instance I have learned that I love outdoor photography better then anything else as to where someone else may like inside abstruct! Good luck :)

Hi Lauren,

Here is a great class, only $69 from Shoot FLY Shoot. I went to the Haven conference and Josh and Kevin spoke and it was an amazing session. If you are familiar with The Lettered Cottage blog written by Kevin and Layla, it's his photography business. He shoots magazine photos all the time. I promise you will be shooting in Manual in no time and taking great photos!!
